Photographic Organisations & Accreditations
Photography has provided me with opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute to the wider photographic community. Through my involvement with local societies, regional federations, and national organisations, I have developed my skills, achieved recognised distinctions, and supported fellow photographers along the way.
Royal Photographic Society (RPS)
I was awarded my Licentiateship (LRPS) with the Royal Photographic Society in 2014. Whilst I have yet to take the next step and apply for an Associateship (ARPS), my wide-ranging interests across different photographic genres have made it challenging to assemble a cohesive body of work that meets the required standard.
My involvement with the RPS has been highly rewarding. Images of mine have received both a Selectors Award and a Commendation in Royal Photographic Society Digital Art Group exhibitions.
More recently, the RPS Landscape Group has introduced a programme of travelling outdoor exhibitions at venues throughout the UK. I have been delighted to have my work selected for inclusion in both exhibitions held to date.
Saltburn Photographic Society (SPS)
When my passion for photography was rekindled more than twenty years ago, I rejoined my local photographic society. Since then, Saltburn Photographic Society has been a constant source of inspiration, knowledge, and friendship.
I owe a great deal to the members of the society for their encouragement and support throughout my photographic journey. In return, I have been proud to contribute to the club, serving for two years as Chairman and undertaking a variety of other supporting roles.
Northern Counties Photographic Federation (NCPF)
Many photographic societies and camera clubs are affiliated with regional federations, which provide administrative support, organise competitions, and arrange presentations and events for their member clubs.
I have been actively involved with the Northern Counties Photographic Federation for several years, serving on the Executive Committee and as Portfolio Secretary. In March 2026, I was honoured to be elected President of the Federation.
Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB)
The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain brings together regional federations from across the UK. The organisation oversees national exhibitions and competitions, provides guidance to affiliated federations, and administers a respected awards system for photographers.
In 2024, I was proud to be awarded the Credit Award of the PAGB (CPAGB) following a successful assessment of my work.
My next objective is to achieve the Distinction Award (DPAGB), and I am currently working towards that goal.
